- 1 can pineapple rings
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup butter
- Maraschino cherries (optional)
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup butter
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- ¼ tsp cloves
Instructions
- Melt butter and brown sugar in a pan. Arrange pineapple slices and cherries.
- Cream butter and sugar, then add eggs, milk, and vanilla. Mix in flour and spices.
- Pour batter over pineapple layer.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35–40 minutes.
- Let cool slightly, then invert onto a plate.
Notes
Allow the cake to cool slightly before flipping to prevent it from breaking and to keep the topping intact.
