Description

This Creamy Chicken Stuffing Casserole is the ultimate comfort food — tender chicken mixed in a rich, creamy sauce, topped with buttery golden stuffing for the perfect easy family dinner!

    • 3 cups cooked chicken, shredded or cubed
    • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
    • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
    • 1 cup sour cream
    • ½ cup milk
    • ½ tsp garlic powder
    • ½ tsp onion powder
    • Salt & pepper to taste
  • For the Stuffing Topping
    • 1 box (6 oz) stuffing mix (like Stove Top)
    • 1 cup chicken broth
    • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • Optional Add-Ins
    • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Colby-Jack cheese
    • ½ cup frozen peas or green beans
    • ½ cup chopped celery or onions for extra texture

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare the Chicken Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the chicken, both soups, sour cream, milk, and seasonings. Stir until creamy and well blended. If you’re adding veggies or cheese, mix them in now.
  3. Layer in the Casserole Dish: Spread the creamy chicken mixture evenly in your prepared baking dish. Set aside while you make the stuffing.
  4. Make the Stuffing Layer: In a medium bowl, combine stuffing mix, melted butter, and chicken broth. Stir until moistened but not soggy.
  5. Assemble & Bake: Spoon the stuffing mixture evenly over the chicken base. Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, until golden brown and bubbling. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

This casserole can be made ahead — just cover and refrigerate before baking. Add 10 minutes to the bake time if cooking from chilled. Great for using up leftover chicken or turkey!
