Ingredients

  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Vanilla Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Fold in the diced apples.
  6. Scoop mound-shaped portions of batter onto the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 11–12 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  8. Allow fritters to cool for about 5 minutes.
  9. Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make the glaze.
  10. Drizzle glaze over warm fritters and serve.

Notes

For extra flavor, try using a mix of apple varieties like Granny Smith and Honeycrisp. These fritters are best enjoyed warm but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
