Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1.5 to 2 tbsp high-quality matcha powder (sifted)
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Sift the flour, baking soda, salt, and matcha powder together in a bowl.
  2. Cream the softened butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, then mix until smooth.
  4. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture without overmixing.
  5. Fold in the white chocolate chips gently.
  6. Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F).
  8. Scoop dough onto a baking tray and bake for 8–10 minutes until edges are set.
  9. Let cool before serving.

Notes

Use high-quality matcha for a vibrant color and rich flavor. Do not overbake to keep cookies soft and chewy.
