Ingredients

- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 cup fresh strawberries (chopped)
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
- 1 tbsp lemon zest (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add egg, vanilla extract, and sour cream, then mix until smooth.
- Gradually add dry ingredients into the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
- Gently fold in chopped strawberries and optional add-ins.
- Chill the dough for 30 to 60 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F).
- Scoop dough onto a baking sheet.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes until lightly golden.
- Let cookies cool before serving.
Notes
Chilling the dough is key to maintaining structure due to the moisture from strawberries. Best enjoyed fresh for optimal texture and flavor.
