- 12 oz pasta (spaghetti or penne)
- 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Zest of 1 lemon
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
- Cherry tomatoes (optional)
- Fresh basil (optional)
Instructions
- Boil pasta in salted water until al dente and reserve some pasta water.
- Sauté asparagus in olive oil for 4–5 minutes until tender.
- Add minced garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.
- Add cooked pasta to the pan and toss to combine.
- Pour in lemon juice and add lemon zest, mixing well.
- Add grated parmesan cheese and toss until creamy, adding reserved pasta water if needed.
- Season with salt and black pepper, then serve warm.
Notes
Use fresh asparagus for the best flavor and texture. Add a splash of reserved pasta water to create a silky sauce.
