Description

An ultra-rich seafood lasagna layered with shrimp, crab meat, creamy garlic Parmesan sauce, ricotta cheese, and bubbling mozzarella.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1 lb crab meat
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 4 tbsp butter (for sauce)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced for sauce)
  • 3 cups heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 extra cup mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Sauté minced garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add shrimp, Old Bay seasoning, and paprika.
  4. Cook until the shrimp turn pink, then remove and set aside.
  5. Add crab meat to the skillet and cook briefly.
  6. Season with salt and pepper and set aside.
  7. In a saucepan, melt butter and sauté garlic for the white sauce.
  8. Pour in heavy cream and whisk continuously.
  9. Add Parmesan cheese, Old Bay seasoning, and red pepper flakes.
  10. Simmer until thickened and creamy.
  11. Mix ricotta cheese, eggs, garlic powder, parsley, half the mozzarella, and half the Parmesan in a bowl.
  12. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
  13. Spread a layer of cream sauce in a greased baking dish.
  14. Layer noodles, ricotta mixture, seafood filling, cream sauce, and mozzarella cheese.
  15. Repeat the layers and finish with cream sauce and remaining mozzarella cheese.
  16. Arrange reserved shrimp on top and sprinkle with paprika and parsley.
  17. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
  18. Remove the foil and bake uncovered for 15 to 20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  19. Rest for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for the smoothest sauce texture. Letting the lasagna rest before slicing helps the layers hold together perfectly.
