- 1 package (3 oz) strawberry flavored gelatin powder
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled, sliced, and dried
- 2 cups mini marshmallows
- 1 cup cottage cheese or 8 oz softened cream cheese
- ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the cottage cheese or softened cream cheese with the dry strawberry gelatin powder.
- Stir until fully blended and evenly pink.
- Fold in the thawed whipped topping until no white streaks remain.
- Add the sliced strawberries, mini marshmallows, and chopped nuts if using.
- Gently fold everything together until evenly distributed.
- Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap.
- Refrigerate for 1–2 hours to allow the mixture to set and the marshmallows to soften.
- Stir gently before serving.
- Garnish with additional strawberry slices if desired.
- Serve chilled.
Notes
Drying the strawberries before mixing helps prevent excess moisture from thinning the salad. For a richer version, substitute softened cream cheese for the cottage cheese.
