Description
A spicy-sweet mango habanero honey garlic sauce made with ripe mangoes, habaneros, honey, and soy sauce. Perfect for wings, shrimp, grilled meats, veggies, and more.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large ripe mangoes, peeled and diced (or 2 cups frozen mango chunks)
- 2–3 habanero peppers, seeds removed for less heat
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Sauté Garlic & Peppers: Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and habaneros, sauté 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
- Add Mango & Liquids: Stir in diced mango, honey, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer: Reduce heat and simmer 10–12 minutes until mango softens and sauce thickens slightly.
- Blend: Carefully blend mixture until smooth (or use immersion blender).
- Adjust & Serve: Taste and adjust sweetness or spice. Strain for a silky texture if desired. Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Tips: Use fewer habaneros for a mild sauce. Add smoked paprika for depth. Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
