Description

This refreshing Lemon Water combines fresh lemon juice, aromatic lemon zest, and filtered water for a simple, invigorating drink. Optional ginger or cayenne adds an extra layer of flavor and warmth.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz (480ml) filtered water
  • ½ fresh organic lemon (juiced)
  • 1 tsp finely grated lemon zest
  • Tiny pinch cayenne pepper (optional)
  • ½ inch fresh ginger root (optional)

Instructions

  1. Thoroughly wash the lemon and grate 1 teaspoon of zest directly into a glass.
  2. Cut the lemon in half and squeeze the juice from one half into the glass, removing any seeds.
  3. Add the cayenne pepper or fresh ginger if using.
  4. Pour the filtered water over the lemon mixture.
  5. Stir vigorously for 30 seconds to distribute the lemon zest and flavors.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

For a warmer drink, use lukewarm water. For a refreshing version, use chilled water. Rinse your mouth with plain water after drinking to help protect tooth enamel.
