Description
A refreshing, historic tonic known as Switchel or Honegar, made with apple cider vinegar, honey, ginger, and water — a natural energy and hydration drink.
Ingredients

- 4 cups cold water (still or sparkling)
- ¼ cup raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar
- 3 tbsp raw honey (or molasses for a traditional version)
- 1 tbsp freshly grated ginger (or ½ tsp ground ginger)
- Ice cubes (for serving)
- Lemon or lime slices (optional garnish)
Instructions
- In a large pitcher, whisk together ACV, honey, and ginger until honey dissolves.
- Add water and stir well.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or tang to your liking.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
- Serve over ice with lemon or lime slices.
