Description

Golden, flaky salatini filled with savory ham and melted cheese—perfect as a snack, appetizer, or light meal.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cold butter
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 200g ham (chopped)
  • 200g cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 egg yolk (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Mix flour and salt, then cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  2. Add milk and form into a smooth dough.
  3. Roll the dough thin on a floured surface.
  4. Mix ham, cheese, and oregano for the filling.
  5. Cut dough into squares and place filling in the center.
  6. Fold and press edges firmly to seal.
  7. Brush tops with egg yolk.
  8. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes until golden.
  9. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Make sure edges are sealed היטב to prevent filling from leaking. Great for parties or lunchboxes.
