- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsp butter (softened)
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 egg + milk (for egg wash)
- Optional sugar glaze
Instructions
- Mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast, then let sit until foamy.
- Add flour, egg, butter, and salt, then knead until smooth dough forms.
- Cover and let the dough rise until doubled in size.
- Gently fold chocolate chips into the dough.
- Divide dough and shape into round buns.
- Let buns rest for 30–40 minutes for the second rise.
- Brush with egg wash and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 18–20 minutes.
- Allow buns to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For extra sweetness, drizzle with a light sugar glaze after baking. Best enjoyed warm and fresh.
