Description

A powerful, immune-boosting herbal tonic made by infusing apple cider vinegar with spicy, zesty herbs and roots — finished with optional honey for balance.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar (with “the mother”)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 head garlic, peeled and crushed
  • ½ cup fresh horseradish root, grated
  • ½ cup fresh ginger root, grated
  • 1 fresh chili pepper (jalapeño, serrano, or cayenne), sliced
  • Zest and juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 tbsp raw honey (optional, added after straining)
  • A pinch of cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Place onion, garlic, horseradish, ginger, chili, and lemon zest in a clean glass jar.
  2. Pour apple cider vinegar over ingredients until completely covered.
  3. Seal with a non-metal lid and store in a cool, dark place.
  4. Shake the jar daily for 2–4 weeks.
  5. Strain the liquid through cheesecloth into a clean bottle.
  6. Stir in lemon juice and honey (if desired).

Notes

Fire cider is a traditional folk remedy known for its warming, immune-boosting properties. Take 1–2 tablespoons daily or dilute in warm water or tea.
