Description

Golden, crispy potato rings made from mashed potato dough—perfect for snacking or as a side dish. You can fry or bake them for delicious results!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large potatoes, peeled and boiled
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch (or potato starch)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional for extra crispiness)
  • For Coating & Frying:
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
  • Optional Garnish:
  • Fresh parsley or chives
  • A sprinkle of chili flakes for a kick

Instructions

  1. Boil & Mash the Potatoes: Peel and cube the potatoes, then boil until tender. Drain and mash until smooth. Let cool slightly.
  2. Form the Dough: Add cornstarch, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Parmesan cheese. Mix until smooth and non-sticky. Add more starch if needed.
  3. Shape the Rings: Roll dough flat (1/2-inch thick). Cut circles with a cookie cutter, then cut smaller holes in the center. Reuse scraps.
  4. Bread the Rings: Dip each ring in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs. Double-coat for extra crunch.
  5. Fry Until Golden: Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry rings 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy. For baking, brush with oil and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway.
  6. Serve & Enjoy: Drain on paper towels, sprinkle with salt and parsley, and serve hot with your favorite dips.

Notes

These potato rings stay crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. Perfect for parties or snacking. Serve with ketchup, cheese dip, or spicy mayo.
