Description

Delicious and budget-friendly birria tacos, packed with rich flavors and tender meat, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 6 dried guajillo chiles
  • 2 dried ancho chiles
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp cumin
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Corn tortillas
  • Chopped onions and cilantro for garnish
  • Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Remove stems and seeds from chiles, boil until soft, then blend with onion, garlic, cumin, and oregano.
  2. Season beef with salt and pepper, then sear in a pot until browned.
  3. Add blended chile mixture and beef broth, simmer on low for 3 hours until meat is tender.
  4. Shred beef and dip corn tortillas in the broth before frying on a skillet.
  5. Fill tortillas with shredded birria, garnish with onions, cilantro, and lime.

Notes

For extra flavor, serve with a small bowl of the birria broth for dipping.
