Description

Soft, thick bakery-style sugar cookies with a tender center, subtle almond aroma, and a rich pink frosting finish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup cold butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • Pink food coloring

Instructions

  1. Beat cold butter and sugar until combined.
  2. Add eggs and extracts.
  3. Mix in flour, cornstarch, and baking powder.
  4. Divide into large dough balls.
  5. Bake at 190°C for 10–12 minutes.
  6. Cool on pan for 15 minutes.
  7. Frost once completely cool.

Notes

Using cold butter and not flattening the dough keeps the cookies thick and soft like bakery-style treats.
