- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup butter (cold)
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tsp sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 cups diced apples
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Mix flour, sugar, and salt, then cut in butter and add milk to form dough.
- Refrigerate dough for 30 minutes.
- Cook diced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until soft.
- Roll dough into a rectangle shape.
- Spread apple filling evenly over the dough.
- Fold dough and shape into an oval or ring.
- Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25–30 minutes.
- Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla, then drizzle glaze over cooled kringle.
Notes
For extra flakiness, keep the butter cold when preparing the dough. Best served slightly warm.
