Description

A flaky, buttery apple kringle filled with warm spiced apples and finished with a sweet vanilla glaze—perfect for a cozy treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup butter (cold)
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 cups diced apples
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, sugar, and salt, then cut in butter and add milk to form dough.
  2. Refrigerate dough for 30 minutes.
  3. Cook diced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until soft.
  4. Roll dough into a rectangle shape.
  5. Spread apple filling evenly over the dough.
  6. Fold dough and shape into an oval or ring.
  7. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25–30 minutes.
  8. Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla, then drizzle glaze over cooled kringle.

Notes

For extra flakiness, keep the butter cold when preparing the dough. Best served slightly warm.
