  • Yield: 1 cup marinade (for ~1 lb meat) 1x

Description

A tangy, savory marinade made with apple cider vinegar, garlic, mustard, and herbs — perfect for tenderizing and flavoring chicken or pork.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup raw apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce (or coconut aminos)
  • 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp dried thyme (or 1 tbsp fresh)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp sea salt

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together vinegar, oil, soy sauce, honey, garlic, mustard, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Place chicken or pork in a resealable bag or shallow dish.
  3. Pour marinade over meat, ensuring even coating.
  4. Refrigerate for the recommended time (chicken: 1–2 hours, pork: 2–4 hours).
  5. Cook meat as desired — grill, bake, or sear.

Notes

Avoid marinating longer than 24 hours to prevent the meat from becoming too acidic. Works best with chicken breasts, thighs, pork chops, or tenderloin.
